From the planet to a river in Missoula Montana. There is a beautiful river running through our city. It is precious and it is in danger. There is a mining smelt pit upstream that is separated only by a small berm If that berm breaks toxic waste could be flowing though our city. We are trying to create awareness in the community about this danger. The Clark Fork River Coalition organizes cleanup projects and brings awareness about the river restoration.
The Silk Cafe has joined The Clark Fork Coalition and is planning an exciting project. The city needs to find more ways to enjoy the river. We need to think big. We need more access to the river for recreational activities and we need sculptures and architecture around the river to to symbolize the city. I am organizing a participatory design workshop to harness the talent from the community. I will take some of the best projects to the Missoula Planning Board to discuss the merits of them.
You never know. They might make a new scarf.
